Cape Breton Beaches - Favorites - Ingonish

Ingonish

Ingonish beach is located within the Highlands National Park.  This is a truly excellent beach, beautiful in the summer months. Located in a cove off the Atlantic Ocean, the water maybe cooler in the early season but that only makes it a better spot to cool off.  Some days has some great waves for splashing around in.  There is a campground near by as well as hiking trails and other amenities. A canteen is on site during the summer months and there are washrooms and change rooms available. The beach is also backed by a freshwater lake if you are looking for a different swimming experience.

Every hole at Bell Bay is named for a ship that sailed the Seven Seas from Baddeck.  The course is fairly challenging and has amazing views including Beinn Bhreagh, the estate of Alexander Grahm Bell, across Bell Bay.  If you are near or in Baddeck in the summer and enjoy golfing, make sure to check out Bell Bay

Cape Breton Golf - Reviews / Previews - Highland Links

Highland Links

The oldest course on Cape Breton Island, the Highland Links is portrait of what golf should be.  Located in Ingonish, on the Cabot trail, the course has been in operation since 1930.  It has some of the most rolling hills of all the courses in Cape Breton, which is saying something.  The course runs through Ingonish and along the coast of Cape Breton offering some wonderful views of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding area.  This course constantly ranks in the Top 100 in Courses in the World and is often ranked as Canada's top public golf course.  The course has undergone a massive restoration effort and should be in top shape for this years golf season.  A must play for all golfers coming to Cape Breton.
